HOW TO APPLY FOR A HOLIDAY HAMPER

Since 1977, the Airdrie 1st Club (formerly Lioness Club) has helped many families in need enjoy the Holiday Season.

Should you find yourself needing our assistance, please do not hesitate to apply. Our applications for the 2024 year are open until Early December.

The following documentation may be required during the screening process

  • 2023 Notice of assessment for all Adult family members
  • Government issued ID for all family members (adults and children)
  • Previous 2 months bank statements • Previous month utility bill
  • Previous 60 days Income Verification
    The Airdrie 1st Club reserves the right to refuse a referral/request.  Should you not be approved, we suggest you contact the Airdrie Food Bank for assistance with a food hamper.

      Abuse of our Program and its principles of generosity will not be tolerated.

      Recipient Application Forms  for 2024 will open until Early December. 




        FAQ

        How do I apply for a Holiday Hamper?

        Our 2024 Holiday Hamper Applications are open from October 1 to December 6

        Applications can be made by filling out our online application, Just click on the link "2024 Hamper Application" to the left
        One of our club volunteers will be in touch with you within 7 days of your application being submitted. If all documents are submitted to our screeners, the process of being approved will be faster


        Who is eligible to receive a Holiday Hamper?

        All applicants will be screened by the Hamper Program Screeners. Eligibility is based on income, and you must be a resident of Airdrie, Alberta. Residents of Calgary or surrounding areas are not eligible.

        Important Information:

        All applicants will be subject to screening to determine need. Screening will be done over the phone or in person. Your may be required to provide any or all of the following as proof of Income:



        • The CRA 2023 Notice of Assessment for ALL adults in the family.
        • Government issued ID for all family members (adults and children)
        • Previous 2 months bank statements
        • Previous month utility bill
        • Previous 60 days Income Verification.

        The Airdrie 1st Club reserves the right to refuse a referral/request. Should you not be approved, we suggest you contact the Airdrie Food Bank for assistance with a food hamper.


        How do I receive the Holiday Hamper?

        You will need to do your application and complete your screening process with an Airdrie 1st member. Once this process is complete and you have been approved, we will assign your application a number. An Airdrie 1st Member will call you once we have completed our paperwork. You will receive your package number and information on receiving your Holiday Hamper.


        If I complete the paperwork when will I get the Holiday Hamper?

        If your application is accepted, you will be given all necessary information for the receipt of your Holiday Hamper the weekend of December 14th & 15th. One of our volunteers will call you with this information on or before Thursday December 13th, 2024


        What is in a Holiday Hamper?

        A Holiday Hamper is: grocery gift cards for your holiday meal, gifts (or gift cards), a holiday treat, and wrapping supplies (if available).


        Can I include visitors in my family size for the Holiday Hamper?

        No. This Program is intended to serve Airdrie residents of a particular household, as qualified through screening.
